First of all, let me start out by telling you why God says it. The bible tells us not to let the sun go down on our wrath. Reason being is because if someone has done something to make you angry and you don't reconcile your differences with that individual or forgive that individual and should you lay down and die then you have not forgiven that individual. God says that if you do not forgive those who hurt you then neither will he forgive you for your sins. So then you would have died in anger, bitterness, and hatred toward someone. Thats not acceptable to God. The best thing to do is if you should happen to get angry at your spouse or anyone for that matter, best thing to do is try to resolve whatever the conflict is while both parties have the opportunity to do so. We never know what tomorrow holds for us. So lets do good while we have the chance to do good. I hope this answers your question.

Well, I think you should go to bed angry. Because sometimes in the morning, the problem doesn't seem as big and you can talk it over and settle it. If you stay up late and are overly tired, nothing will get better. You'll just keep arguing. Don't ignore an argument, but if you can't settle it before bedtime, do get some sleep and think about it again the next day.

Do not go to bed/sleep angry at your spouse because you never know if that will be the last time you talk to him/her. You wouldn't want the last words said between you to be in anger. It would haunt you for the rest of your life.
Besides it is a whole lot easier to get a restful sleep if you aren't angry.

This is based on a Biblical injunction found at Ephesians 4:26,27 which says: Be wrathful, and yet do not sin; let the sun not set with YOU in a provoked state, neither allow place for the Devil.
Holding a grudge can lead one to sin by causing harm to the one you are angry at or simply turning a deaf ear or blind eye to thier needs, This would be highly detrimental to a marriage.

I'm not certain. All I know that if I stay up and fight I just get more and more irrational due to lack of sleep (and usually more angry). If I go to sleep, I usually wake up in a good mood, and can then talk (not argue) about the subject.

You shouldn't go to bed angry at anyone really. It means maybe they won't wake-up. Maybe before you sleep will be the last time you see them. You never know. Merry Christmas.

because you should. have you noticed that when you're angry, you think more angry thoughts? The longer it goes, the more thoughts. The more thoughts you store, the more come back the next time you get angry. The quicker you resolve, your thoughts in future arguements will go toward the resolutions, not the festered anger.

because you will be angry again in the morning... if you get over it prior to going to bed, you can have a good night sleep and hold each other!

I've heard that before, but honestly, there are times when there is no way any resolution can happen that night. Sometimes it's better to sleep on it so you can address it the next day without anger.
