its a wonderful name. because the baby is mixed u can get away with a more exotic enthic name! take advantage of that. (DONT think im racist but really, a white gal like me could never get away with anything like chanell for my baby! im sifting thru the boring old pink names...sigh...lol)cloe is a common enough first name that she wont get teased, but chanell is different enough that she can standout if she wants. i love the idea of one name unique and the other more conventional. my baby is half iranian so maybe i could do something slightly different with the middle name...

Congratulations on your darling bundle! I think most people now are embracing a more cosmopolitan, enlightened attitude and race issues are becoming rather irrelevant.
Chloe Chanel sounds so elegant and classy! I can just picture a lovely brunette little lady. You pick your baby's name, and decide what you like best, and just don't worry about inconsequental things like other people's predjudices. Your baby is bound to be absolutely amazing and unique, and I wish you all the best.
Merry Christmas and many blessings,
cryllie

Sounds like a perfume. The sylables work well together but I'd pick another middle name Chloe Danielle? Chloe Fernwell? See where I'm going with this? Maybe you should check into the father's (and yours) family and find a name there that had an -el sound.

By today's standards, Chloe Chanel is pretty normal.

wow, that sounds really class!!! choosing a baby name is an important decision because the baby has to deal with it the whole life! so like i said Chloe Chanel sounds very class but for me the meaning and origins of the name are way more important!!! and for me and my husband it was really fun to find a matching name because our baby is Italian-African! but we did find a name that sounds nice and means something important!!!

Chanel, as in the perfume? No good...sounds cheap and fake. Chloe is too ubiquitous. Don't be like everyone else and try to re-invent the wheel. Kids these days don't need some unique "oh-look-at-me!" name to make others go 'awwww'. it's a bunch of fk'n nonsense!

I think your daughter will look beautifully exotic. I love the name Chloe but will be be pronounced with the long 'o' sound or with the 'o' and 'e' sound? Chanel makes me think of that perfume....
For some reason, when I thought of her name being Chloe - with the long o and long e pronounced, the name Renee popped into my head. So, how 'bout Chloe Renee?

I think Chloe Chanel is a beautiful name, and it seems like it would suit her from what you've said. Don't go with naming trends, go with what you like, and what you think your wonderful new baby will like when she's older. In my opinion, it would set her apart for the pure fact that it's a normal (but not in a bad way) name.

I like Chloe, not so crazy about Chanel. Give her a name that you like that isn't too hard for people to spell or pronounce. One that you take pride in. Raise your child to be aware and proud of her mixed heritage, because some people will be ignorant, but we can't change or make ourselves less because of them.
