NO sony vaios are very overrated computers, if you want something good go with Toshiba but if you can find a good vaio on sale or something then it might be worth it

If you have 2000 to spend, you can build a great computer yourself, or have someone do it for you. There are step by step directions all over the net. Check out Maximum PC magazine. They have some build guides in their archives. For 2000 you can have a nice rig capable of more memory you'll need and a top of the line vid card. I would wait a while, though, until Vista comes out with Direct x 10 and the new vid cards start coming out.
