Since they were born they dont have any idea of figures like shapes, colors as what normal people see. Do they dream of the same figures too.

People dream about the things they know or the things they imagine knowing. Therefore, a person who is blind will dream in a way that expresses what they know of the world. This may be though sounds, smells, touches, and tastes...and maybe even through imagined visualizations. Dreams are not always based on reality though...so really anything goes.

"dream like normal people" interesting . . . I have never read they have a different REM sleep pattern, sequence, etc. It would be interesting to know re: what we can measure of their sleep. As for what type of imagines they "see" in their sleep . . . it would be based upon their personal reality. If you can't see enough to know colors, shapes, etc . . . . then you can't "see" them during your sleep. So however they pattern the world out in their brain would be what they would dream. Of course the only true proof would be if someone could reverse someone else's congenital blindness and have them visually reconstruct what they "saw" in their dreams before and then with sight.

In nature, I think people develop instincts just like all other animals. Babies recognize another human at birth, so I think even someone who is blind may be able to visualize some similar things we see.

Didja know that many people think in pictures while most think in words? Seems like we are all out of touch with the part of us that actually does the thinking.

No, they don't "see" in their dreams because they don't have the experience of seeing. For example, dogs have a richer sense of smell than you do... can you smell things like a dog does in your dreams? Probably not, you don't have the experience of it.

Great question. They have no frame of reference for what things look like in the world, so I don't know. I bet it'd be freaky to find out!
