Your best bet would be to call up a few local contractors, and have them give you some estimates, Then you can choose the one that best fits your budget.
Have you ever though about switching to LP? Not sure where you live, but where I live the cost of oil is very high right now, and it is much cheaper to burn LP, with a high efficent furnace.
Most of the new oil burners, are still low efficent.
Just somthing for you to think about, if you call up the contractors they should be able to give you prices on both choices, and if they are good, they can tell you which way would be better to go.
Good Luck

It Mostly depends on what brand you buy. try typing oil furnaces on a search engine under shopping, that should give you a reasonable price.

This can be anywhere from 1500 to 6000 dollars. Go to Home Depot...Lowes and places like that, even Sears and get estimates, right now Home Depot is running a sale for an air conditioner with the heater for a "deal"

You should expect to pay at least $2000 with installation. Possibly quite alot more. Price goes up as models get better, more efficient. You should get competitive pricing and go with a reputable company that will honor the warranty of the equipment they sell.
