It means Santa is saying the price per barrell of oil is too high because of greedy OPEC and you should start making synfuels from coal liquification which will yield oil of around $30 US per barrell.

We've got abundant coal in the USA, we need to start converting it into oil to make gasoling, and really send a screw you message to greedy OPEC.

But that wouldn't happen anytime before 2008. Bush is too heavily invested in oil to do something to reduce the cost of oil.

Vote for a change in 2008!!!

Stocking Full Of Coal

2016-11-12 03:48:03 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

No source for this but I bet it's true... When homes were heated with open grate coal fires (I know--yuck) some folks could afford only coal -- not toys or nice dinners etc. and so they put coal in their kid's stockings...probably the only fun the kid had on Christmas Day was putting the coal on the fire and having a marginally warmer room. Not too much fun for the poor kids and they were probably made fun of for it. Perhaps the wealthier children's parents (who could afford a nicer Santa Clause) told their children that you got coal in your stocking if you were naughty to make them behave, not realizing that their lie might spark a new tradition... :-)

Considering that coal was thought to be the father of diamonds, it could be a nice gesture. However, back when the coal in the stocking gag was first started, coal was the number one heating material and quite abundant. If you got coal in your stocking on Christmas or in your shoe on Kris Kringle Night, you were not the nice person others thought you could be. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

It seems the original stocking were hung with care, but by three daughters of a widower....doweries were expected by suitors, so Santa left the sisters a bag of gold for each in their stockings. We all wanted gold so we began hanging stockings, alas it was a tradition born. Perhaps Santa in his right mind decided to leave coal, from which inside is a diamond, not to say good or bad, but to say saidly that with hard work a piece of coal will wrought a diamond.I mean really the season of peace and joy is magical, not judgemental of ones behavor, and maybe not only believing, but seeing is the delight we were meant to receive.

When there are a collection of coals in your stocking that means that you need to become an association with the family that your separate from them and you guys need to come together and become one again. It's not a bad thing it's a form of communicating but you need to be able to read between the lines. Happy Holidays God Bless Remember this is the reason for the season is Jesus Christ was born so nothing that happens is a bad thing it all work together for the good of Jesus our saviour.

Coal was a much used comodity for many years and still is today in many corners of the globe. People used it to heat there homes and make them comfortable.(nothing like a home heated with acoal fireplace.) It burns longer than wood and puts out more heat.. Some people didn't have much to give back in the old country during hard times and they would give a bag of coal to keep the fire burning. The people that had plenty recieved and gave other finer things. Give me a lump of coal!

When you take the N from the middle of SANTA and place it at the end to reveal SATAN. You cross over from the demension of not knowing to knowing the truth and the contrast is clear , that although one comes from a hot climate and the other from a cold climate they are still one in the same each would like to know wether you have been good or not, or know when you are sleeping or awake and come forth from the hot chimmeny while you are unconscious as the creator of all things unseen and seen. Coals are what we recieve when we know the truth. There really isn't a SANTA there's only SATAN and it's the devils last attempt at giving us the coals to keep the lie burning in the hearts of our children.

If you look deeper into the story about the coal in the stocking, I think it means something along the lines of your bad deeds.

It seems presents are awarded to the "good" boys and girls, but in truth the presents are used to keep them in line. A belief structure based on "If I'm good I'll get presents," rationale; therefore, the kids will be good as best they can in hopes for good tidings on Christmas Day. ^^

Coal is awarded as a punishment for a naughty boy or girl, seeming as though coal is dark, black and will stain. You're naughty deeds are full of dark, black and seem to stain your reputation. So coal is deserving of those who make it that way. ^^

Yeah, I'm no professional but hey, what can ya do? :P

I have always been under the understanding that coal in your stocking meant that you had not been good that year. Instead of toys or candy, Santa put coal in the stockings of bad little boys and girl
