You've got five more years if you plan to save yourself. If you give it up, though, that's when you should go.

18 if you're still a virgin by then or whenever it is you lose your virginity, prolly because no matter if you're using condoms, birth control is a really good idea.

If you have problems with your cycle, though, you may have to start before either losing it or turning 18. Just go when your doc tells you it's time to.

When you go see your regular Dr. for your annual physical chkup. You could asked them. As long as you are a virgin you dont need to- I am proud of you for not being sexually active. Seeing the gyno is when you are sexually active or having a baby. Sometime most woman will have that if there is a history of health problem among the women in there family. So it is different. I have a friend who is a virgin-30yrs old. Her Dr. recommend for her to get a chkup. She is healthy, full of life. all depends on different situation. So dont worry too much, Just enjoy being a teenager and I hope you have a great Dr. who will help you. Good luck!

18 or when you become sexually active. but there are some exceptions if you have no period or if your periods are totally off like months or if they are really painful. Or if you get an infection (other than a yeast infection). I went when i was sexually active and it wasn't as uncomfortable as i thought it would be. also you usually dont start getting infections till your sexually active (just part of being a sexually active girl )

Smiley 710 is quite right. When you next see your family doctor. ask about it. And if it's not already in your medical records and you have reached menarche (first period), let your doctor know. Your family doctor can answer this one for you, and in part, it does depend upon whether or not you are sexually active. But a virgin can have reproductive problems, too.

Your family doctor can do a pelvic exam, as a part of an physical exam or if you are having any type of problem. This isn't fun, but it's not painful. It's can be a bit uncomfortable, but it shouldn't be painful. Pelvic exams are necessary, as part of your overall health care. If your family doctor feels it necessary, s/he will refer you to a GYN, but for routine matters, you just see your family doctor.

One more thing. You can and should talk with your mother or with another woman whom you trust. Ask about this, ask about any and all such questions. You're not wrong to ask it here, but you shouldn't feel that you can't talk with a woman whom you know. We've all been there and done that, and we all know how you feel. We know your fears if any, and we know whether or not they have any basis in fact.

You can wait until you're 18 if you're not sexually active and have no problems.

I was 19 when I went the first time.

Probably 16. I knew a girl in high school who found something wrong with her around that age, and she wasn't active either.
