It's one of the best rock songs ever. The arrangement of the song and the style they do it in could not be done any better. I love the use of the 12-string bass (four strings, tuned EADG, with three octaves per note). The video for the song also leans a lot to the depth of the song, where the kid playing Jeremy ends up killing himself because his parents treat him like crap and the kids at school make fun of him for speaking in class. It's one of the deepest songs I have ever heard. It's not often that there is a song that not only is awesome artistically, but it also has deep meaning other than writing about getting drunk the night before or singing about some girl that dumped you.
