Do you mean Biblically or Darwinistic? If you mean Biblically, then God created Adam from the earth and then Eve from Adam's ribcage. If you mean Darwinistic, then we evolved from lower life forms.

Depends. According to Christian belief the first man was made form the dust fo the earth by God.

According to the Norse, the first man and women were fashioned out of two trees. by the three gods Odin, Vili and Ve (or alternately Odin, Hoenir and Lodhur).

According to the Greeks, the first people were made from clay by Prometheus.

Other cultures also have origins for humankind...

Of course from a more scientific perspective the first humans cam on the scene somewhere between 35 and 50,000 years ago with the emergance of the Cro Magnon (the first homo sapien).

I suppose it is safe to say then that there are LOTS of ideas on the matter, but no real agreement among them...

I'll answer this questions completley knowing this is the right answer. The first human came from the evolved form of a certain type of monkey. not just any old monkey but a much more advanced form. plus it depends on what type of human. the first human was not a homo sapien. before homo sapiens came homo habilis Lucy was not the oldest human she was the oldest human ever FOUND. eveloution is the only sensible way. And if you look back science proves it. I'm no scientist or science lover i'm just saying you can deny facts.

Dude, not a good place to ask this question! You'll get all kinds of crap! Read the Bible; it's a very reliable source (God took dust from the earth and formed it into a man - Adam.)

He just suddenly sprang up from dirt and took on human form. Then he pulled out a rib and it turned into a woman. People who pilot aeroplanes believe the above so take cover.

Reguardless of what you have heard we were made by the power of Almighty God. He didn't have to use dust He just chose to do so for good reasons I'm sure. God's ways are past finding out.
