Is incest a mental disorder?

why some people are incest and others arent?

If anyone has studied phycology, then help with the question.

Psychologically speaking, its not classified as one. Someone who would perform such an act would be classified under another category, such as a "sexual sadist" or have a "personality disorder." Check the psychology manual that doctors use, the DSM-IV (the diagnostics and statistical manual - version 4). Homosexuality was removed in the early '70's, thank god.

PS In the Old Testament, God condemns the children of prostitutes for 7 generations. I used to think this was so evil of him, until one day I was reading and I saw that it took 7 generations for the "Cycle of Abuse" to break from Child Abuse. So, thousands of years before, they knew something that we're just figuring out, that abuse is an ongoing, passed down thing, Something that takes many generations to break. Why? Beacuse, when you've been abused by someone you LOVE & TRUST such as a parent, it changes you. These are people you depend on and they hurt you. Then when you have children, you know no better, it was done to you, and have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, possible Dissociative Identity Disorder and other problems, you pass it along. Finally, the chain breaks when someone gets help or lucks out and isn't abused. Its easy to sit and judge the abusers, and they SHOULD BE JUDGED, what they do is horrible. But they were children too, and they were harmed too. It makes them a mess. Everyone loses.

Person becomes really prone to all the possible diseases ..Inbred children can be always retarded and degenerated. All the social services become corrupted for them to over-achieve!. Propaganda is stored. Condoms are to be usedx2 to prevent the disease being spread!!. It is even worse than undergoing a voluntary gender change! Education is way too late. Sex is more tempting than anything else! Even more than breathing oxygen, drinking water or eating the fresh Food.. .

Incest is a crime. it also speaks of the mental state of the person who commits the crime against a member of his own family.I don't think it is an actual mental disorder like depression or schizophrenia. I think the one who does it has lost control of the ability to reason and make moral judgement calls. It is usually a father with a daughter, but could be any relationship within families. It's more about power and control and is in total disregard for the victim. That is not a disorder, but rather a problem that goes deep and beyond a simple disorder.

I would call incest a mental disorder.. He don't know enought about it yet, to classify.. Sexuality is a fluid thing, and changes in society with time. (I DO NOT condone incest, I believe it does much emotional and psychological damage to the recipient.. Perhaps someday, we will find a recessive gene, or figure certain kinds of stress, and situations, can make happen.. There is SO MUCH about the Mind we do not know yet..

No incest is not a mental disorder.True it is sometimes brought about by molestation or incest in the family.But some cultures think that there is no better loving colony than your own family.

i have not done and studies on it but the way i see it is if you can make you knowingly and willing sleep with your brother, mother, sister or whatever then i would have to say no it is not a mental disorder

it's not a mental disorder as much as a societal taboo..It has been forbidden because of the dangers of inbreeding.

it's just the question of ur affinity..
same goes to ur affinity to certain flavor of ice cream and so on.. so, dont fell bad.. but, try to change the predilection
