Helping someone is always justified by reasoning. Reasoning is not always used when deciding to help, but that does not invalidate the reason. It is generally accepted as good to help. In cases where unethical or illegal actions are taking place, reason suggests that helping is a bad idea. There are exceptions though only a few.
As was stated previously, sometimes consent is required. You can offer food until you die, but the person you seek to help is under no obligation to accept the food. Again, there are exceptions. Those with children are required by law to provide for the children. If they have no food, they must accept help. Husbands are obligated to take care of their wives. They are under contract until death parts them.
In most cases if the help is in earnest it will not be denied. Where your treasure is there will your heart be also. What is important to you?

Most people are going to say no, but keep in mind you're asking a bunch of people who would have no reason to answer your question but to get "2 points".
Legally speaking, you don't need a reason, but you usually do need their consent.

Well in our younger days it was stated that it doesnt. I believe people say this because it sounds like the more moral or righteous thing to say. In the real world and real life every action seems to need justification.

sometimes, and sometimes not. It really depends on what resoning it is and who you're helping. But if it's your job to help someone, I really believe it's your responsibilty above all reasoning or people because if it's your job.
