Well use your imagination. You want to see something to people that they need but they can't get easily any other way. Value added services are a good idea. That is something that is cheap, but you add some extra value to the process.

Make sure you keep it under the pain barried. That is someone might have no trouble handing over $10-$30 for something that is not good value but, $100 might still be too expensive.

Here is an example. Those door peep holes. I heard of a guy who goes around and knocks on people's doors. He he is dressed like a trades person. He says, Hi, I was just putting in a a peep hole for your neighbor, but i noticed you don't have one. For $10 I can put one in for you now. The peep hole is less than one dollar, his time is less than one minute, and he can make hundreds a day and not work full-time.

It works because it gives the customer extra added value and convenience.

I have grandchildren in the same school and I buy from them. I don't like these fund raisers because I feel they are taking advantage of the fact that most grandparents and parents find it hard to say "no" even if they can't afford it. I would rather give a small donation directly to the school, but they tie these fund raisers in with prizes to the kids who sell the most and of course my grandkids want to win a prize. I also resent the fact that since I cannot afford to buy from the other children I am forced to disappoint them when they come to my door.
