My friend went to the doctors today and we were talking on the phone. She said the doctor said that as an adult she'll be 5'3. She is worried that will be too tall. But I think It's short. What do you think?

wow, i think thats really short. im 13 and im exactly five feet tall and EVERYONE calls me short. most of my friends are around five five or taller. idk, if im 13, five exactly getting called short like 24/7 i think five three is short for an adult..[being short rocks!]

It is short in america these days. but tall in parts of asia and africa.
40 years a go the average male in america was 5 ft 8 and female 5 ft 2. today it's much taller, but wiht mexicans comming in it will go down.
20 years a go the average dutch man was 5 ft 6 and woman was 5 ft . or close. today they are the tallest nationality in the world average ,. the average dutch man is 6 ft 1 and woman is 5 ft 8 due to good insurance, health care, and fast foods which is also giving them health problems in later life.
I fyou are asian 5 ft 3 could be tall in vietnam, parts of china, malaysia. ect. As these people experience better working conditions, food and health care their height will increase as second generation vietnamese do in america.

I'd say it's about average. Height has very little to do with anything anyways. Unless of course she's looking for a job as a basketball player. It's what's inside and how she feels about herself that is going to make the difference in her life.

I think being 5'3" is fine. I'm 4'11" and it's geat because if I was any taller it'll be weird with my boyfriend who is 5'10" (I come up to his cheast). I don't believe i'm too short or short @ all but the perfect height. I even spoken to some guys that said they find women my height and as tall as your friend sexy (and my boyfriend says it is to).

That's in the average range for women. Taller than that is a tall woman, and shorter than that is a short woman.

.... height varies, a LOT. I can't believe you guys are pondering it that way. It's just a height!!!! It's what was in her DNA for her to grow to. It's not tall, nor short. It's HER. That's a bit shorter than the average adult women... but who gives a shet?

I think that 5'3 is short too. But the doctor may be wrong, sounds like he's guestimating how tall she will be.

I believe it's on the short side, but within the usual range. I have had lots of friends who are about that height.

The average height for a woman is around 5'5" or 5'6". In my corner of the world, they're a little shorter. Both of my best friends are under 5 feet. She will be fine though.

5'3" is perfectly average for a woman.
The fashion industry will not admit this, but science and statistics do. You can not be a model at 5'3", and clothes and other consumer goods, and cars are not designed for you at that height, but it is nevertheless exactly average.
