This is a toughie- proactiv may not work for everyone because I have tried it and it worked at first but then it stopped working over time. I asked my dermatologist and he said that you need to find the root cause of your pimples. I don't know how old you are but it could be hormonal. If it is hormonal and not necesarily bacteria related then that might be why Proactiv is not working. My dermatologist also said that there is not concrete evidence that food is the relying factor in determining whether your skin developes zits. Excessive greasy food may not help, i would stay away from fast food. Dark chocolate is actually good for you when eaten in small amounts because it contains a lot of antioxidants - so I've read. You can use a good facial cleanser and oil free moisturizer - you can also try a drying lotion - i like Mario Badescu - or Neutrogena on the spot - just apply right on the pimple and get some rest - drink lots of water

Best advice you may get would be to stop using proactive, if it hasn't cleared up your acne yet it will only causes more zits later on..

toothpaste, straight up. Before you go to bed, put toothpaste on your zits. stress can also be a huge factor of getting zits, so if you have a lot of stress, try get rid of it. washing your face too often can make it more oily then it needs to be, because your body puts the oil there for a reason. (doesn't mean you don't have to wash your face just don't wash it more then twice a day.)
ps: please don't pop them, it will leave scars that aren't very pretty.

the best way to do is stay away from oily foods like greasy pizza or potato chips, fast food and so on. also wash your face everyday no matter what..Neutrogena products work very nice..you also need to see how sensitive your skin is. thats important.
