One of my favorite movies. Elwood P. Dowd. I don't care if he did drink, saw and talked to a six foot + white rabbit, I really would like a friend like Elwood.

He was a happy drunk's invisible companion, a six foot white rabbit. It was a play and a movie with Jimmy Stewart as the happy drunk that was being instituionalized by his family.

Harvey isnt really a rabbit he is a "pooka"

Pooka - from old Celtic mythology - a fairy spirit in animal form - always very large. The pooka appears here and there - now and then - to this one and that one - a benign but mischievous creature - very fond of rumpots, crackpots, and how are you, Mr. Wilson?"
