Try a "low level format". This is a process that goes through your hard drive and writes a "0" to every single spot on the hard drive. It can often resolve issues with a bad sectors. However, it wipes everything on the drive, so back up first. Also, it can take hours to do the format. Check the website for the manufacturer of the hard drive and they will have instructions and software for their brand of hard drives.
