You generally want to set this for 440Hz, especially if you're playing alone. The calibration adjustment is there in case you're having to play with an instrument that isn't capable of changing pitch and you need to tune to that as a source.

440Hz is equivalent to A above middle C and is generally referred to as concert pitch. It is the standard for which the vast majority of music aims. You should be fine setting it there and never changing it.

At one time for some month I used my tuner by possibility and that i had left it on 442 (which makes very just about a 0.5 step difference) and my instructor could freak out each and every lesson it grew to become into exceedingly undesirable. 440 is the time-honored interior the U. S. despite the fact that I do remember having heard Zino Franscescatti play with the manhattan Philharmonic as quickly as at 445 because of the fact he theory the sound matched the peice extra suitable. Thats a shy away of "suited Pitched" human beings because of the fact they are tuned to a minimum of one A at 441 and in yet another usa they should music right down to 438 and it particularly messes them up.

A-440 unless you intend to play Baroque. I think for Baroque they tune flat of 440.
