i have a black friend who likes indian things i made her wear my sari and all her ghetto black friends laugh at her even when she listens to indian music r watch bollywood movies they laugh. im happy that my black friend isnt like the typical black ******.

I'm not sure why your friend's friends laughed at her for liking your culture, but she should have laughed at them for being so ignorant and closed-minded. I also don't agree with your use of asterisks at the end of your question which seems as if you were censoring a six letter word that begins with an 'N'? I think it's great that your friend is interested in a culture other than her own, but I don't think you'll keep her for too long if you keep your opinion and vocabulary the way it is in this question. : ^(

don't let a few Blacks turn you into a hater. You now see how racism starts...a bad experience turns into a stereotype. That stereotype is what you verbalize, like you did on this site. If you find someone who agrees, you become the starting point of racism. Now for your question - anything that is different, people oppose. Much like Indians who come here and don't adopt our culture like they adopt our land...an opposition to change causes people to react by holding tighter to their culture. To shame their sistah for holding onto another, they laugh at her...so, what does your culture do to shame those that cross over to full Americanism?

First of all why do we have to be bit ches? And not every Black girl you meet is going to be ghetto you're generalizing. I thin kit's wonderful that your friend has shown interest in Indian culture.

maybe they laugh because they do not understand and they have not been exposed to the culture....please remember all black people are not ghetto.....how do you define ghetto?
I am a African American woman and i enjoy the Indian culture as well.....you and you friend should share in each other cultures and enjoy it.

first of all, i resent the fact that you call other black people Ghetto and the fact that you used all those stars at the end of your sentence. what that tells me is that you have some unresolved issues with people of color all together. so maybe you are only friends with that black person because they choose to like Indian things. a true friend would not call other cultures ghetto, and have to use stars at the end of a sentence when describing a group of people. and maybe the people that are laughing at her have problems of their own, due to ignorance about other cultures as well. or maybe they think that it is strange for a black person to embrace another culture while not embracing the very one that they belong to if that is what is going on. maybe you should ask those people why they laugh at her instead of name calling.
