Everyone here are bringing up quite advanced civilisations but they are all also decended from Atlantis after it sunk.
I beleive the answers you were seeking were legendary civilisations. Am i correct?
Well if I am you might like to look up Mu, Lemuria and The Rainbow Gardens. These are all quite well known amoung new age and Occult communities but not to well known amoung the general population.
That might interest you and keep you going for a while.

Mu was another land which was supposed to have been destroyed. there are many other ancient civilizations which have existed and disappeared. as an example in the USA there were the Anasazi and the mound builders.

How about MachuPicchu? There were the Mayans and another (which I can't recall right now - Senior Moment). Archeologists and historians have found many amazing sites.
