there are lots of viruses on LimeWire. after downloading on it for a while, you'll become good at spotting the fakes. but until then, (and even after), it is an absolute must to have antivirus software on your computer if you're downloading from any P2P site.

and the guy above me is wrong. i've never seen a virus in an MP3 file, but i've seen them in WMA files many, many times. don't do it without Norton or McAfee or some other antivirus prog.

use a virus program that has Live or Real-Time protection on it. this will stop any viruses on your computer before they get a chance to infect you. that way you don't have to worry about removing them.

I even have downloaded some viruses from Limewire, yet my anti-virus application intercepted it and bumped off it with out harm. My pickup replaced into which you're ok in case you get carry of a particular music. in basic terms stay faraway from those self-compilations. they're greater probably to be contaminated. yet once you're working good anti-virus application, don't be too worried. i think of Limewire is tremendous.

Short answer..most likely. The reason is that there are some not so nice people out there that want to mess with others. The best defense is a virus scanner solution. If you check online..say at Trend Micro..there are free online virus scanners available.
