Apple does not discount their products, this is why all the iPods are the same prices everywhere. The only way the video iPods would become cheaper is when the next generation or something better becomes available on the market. Until then, the prices are going to hold pretty steady and you are not going to find great deals on them. I would go ahead and purchase the iPod you are interested in now and not worry about the price changing anytime soon.

No because I don't plan on buying another iPod anytime soon. Let's put it this way, as soon as I got the G4, non-color iPod, Apple decides to stop making that model, and added color capabilities to the iPod. There was also a price drop for the higher GB model. Skip forward a year or so, when the G5 came out. I decide to buy the 60 GB iPod video for 399.99. A few months after I got it, guess what, the price went down for the 80 gb, and Apple stopped making the 60 gb model. What's the lesson to be learned here? Buy an iPod after I get my iPod because there's going to be a price drop.

There's probably going to be a price drop in late summer or early fall, or as soon as Apple introduces a new iPod model or the G6 model.

I think that the last day before christmas would be very cheap on Ebay for example, but hey see for yourself... check to see if prices are any cheaper now then regular prices during the year, and judge it accordenly, good luck
