This is a toughy.
So I'd typically say set aside all your worries and pick what is best for you unborn baby. HOWEVER, I can totally relate to the awkwardness..."Uh, doctor. I've had this incessant diarrhea for 3 days. Everytime I sit on the pot, it just comes out. By the way...you're pretty handsome *smile*." That coudl be WEIRD! :)
Now, that I've said that, here's what I suggest. Talk to people. Anyone you see that's pregnant. Say to them, "Hey, I'm new in town and I would like to find a good doctor. I'm uncomfortable with mine (leave it at that...you don't have to elaborate the details) and I was wondering if you'd mind telling me where you go and if you'd recommend them." Many new moms will open up to you and let you know! Also, is the doctor you go to in a practice? Maybe you could choose a different doctor?
As for who to settle with. You really do need to look out for your baby FIRST. So my suggestion...look around quick and see if you can find a doctor that either meets or exceeds your expectations and are up to par on everything. If you can find one that you are comfortable with (meeting all these needs) then you should definitely change doctors (even being 3 1/2 months along). However, if you do not find a doctor that AT LEAST meets all of your expectations and you are not comfortable, I'd definitely say stick with your doc. The reason being that even though you may be uncomfortable, he's a good doctor, right? And if it comes down to it, you will tell him what's going on for your babies sake. On top of that, think about his job...he looks at female parts for a living. You know how much he's seen and heard? Think about this....when he delivers babies, some women actually have bowel movements so hearing about a little diarrhea won't phase him. Especially since he is probably not even thinking of you in that way. You may be beautiful, but to take a job as an OB/Gyn, you are responsible for leaving personal matters at the door and responsible for acting professional no matter what.
So if you can find a GREAT new doctor that you're comfy with, go for it...if not, stick with your guy since he's good anyway. Just try not to think too much about him being good looking.
Good luck and congrats!!

That is quite possibly the most ridiculous reason NOT to see a Physician I have ever heard.
If they are a good Doctor (and good Docs are few and far between, really) then I wouldn't worry about their physical appearance or age when deciding whether I want their care or not.
Don't you realize that your vagina (and all that goes in and out of it in relation to childbearing) is familiar territory to this guy? He probably delivers 100+ babies annually, and is used to seeing and hearing everything under the sun.
And, just to add my two cents; it's never TOO late to switch or find a new primary OBGYN. I was 16 weeks before I settled on someone to deliver my daughter. And if I hadnt liked them (for whatever reason) I would have kept looking until I found someone I did.

You need to find a doctor soon.
on that note.
first is the doctor from the er a obstetrics doctor or a general medicine doctor,
second if he is a great doctor and the only reason you don't want to go with him is because he is good looking and you would feel uncomfortable telling him about your pregnancy, just remember he has heard it all before he is a doctor.
if you want to settle for something less the best for your unborn child that is your decision just remember that if something were to go wrong and the so/so doctor you pick out didn't know how to handle it and you get referred to the good looking doctor you are stuck with him any ways.
You are pregnant so please don't take any offense to this but GROW UP and quit thinking about if the doctor looks good and think about his credentials.

This is your BABY, don't settle for mediocore! It doesn't matter why you're uncomfortable if you are, you should keep looking. Be sure to keep your appointments though. Perhaps you could just have consults with these other doctors. You could look into family practice physicans too. There are lots of options. Call your local hospital and ask for a list of doctors that work their maternity ward. Good luck!

Always go for the higher skill and knowledge level!! Trust me, I've worked in Ob for 20 years, and any obstetrician with any decent amount of experience has seen so many coochies that yours is no different than the thousand others he has worked on. You have to remember that medical professionals don't see things on a personal level. They are concerned with health of the patient. There is an ethical distance that they try to keep to prevent things like attraction from clouding their judgement. Don't discriminate against the better MD just because he is young and good looking. Unless you have an attraction to him that you can't get over, because you have to feel comfortable enough with him to discuss things like vaginal discharge and diarrhea. But never, ever settle for a doctor that you know is mediocre. You and/or your baby could suffer grave consequences. Are there any good female Ob's where you are??

You should keep looking until you find one you are comfortable with. I am on medicare and I have an awesome doctor who has a team of midwives under him. I am very uncomfortable with a male doctor for that type of treatment so I get to see the midwives who have a better bedside manner and still have a doctor to consult if there are any complications.

If it quite is your first, you would be wanting to pass now or a minimum of quickly, however some practices desire you wait till 10-12 weeks. basically %. up a reliable diet and pay attention on your physique. If it quite is not your first and you sense properly without underlying themes, every time before approximately 15- sixteen weeks. i'm on my fourth, I referred to as my midwife around 8 weeks, and that they advised me as long as I felt high quality, I knew the deal and that that they had see me around the tip or presently after the tip of the 1st trimester. They despatched me the rx for bloodwork and that i in my view observed them for the 1st time final week at 17 weeks. there replaced into no reason to pass before when you consider that i replaced into feeling great. being pregnant isn't an ailment, that's a typical and healthful technique which in general, healthful, clever and intuitive women folk demands minimum intervention. Its too undesirable you're getting chastised by utilising others on right here only for asking! that's beneficial to think approximately a midwife as a substitute of a doctor, just to make you sense extra universal and responsive to being pregnant as a healthful time, no longer a scientific situation.
