Merriman is having a amazing year don't get me wrong (53 tlks. 15.5 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles). But he got caught using some illegal substance or whatever. While DE Jason Taylor of the Miami Dolphins is having a equally great year (53 tlks. 12.5 sacks, 9 forced fumbles, 2 ints., and 2 TDs). Who deserves to win?

Larry J has a good point Champ Bailey is having a amazing season at CB he has a career high 9 ints this season, not to mention he's shutting down big name WRs.

I say that Champ Bailey will win because i cannot name a reciever that had a 100+ yards game against him now thats a shut down corner.

I don't think Merriman will win Defensive Player of the Year precisely because of that steroid use. I'd say possibly Champ Bailey from Denver, or Jason Taylor from Miami.

Jason Taylor is having a better year in my opinion and Merriman is having a great year too but yes, he did use steroids I think. I would say Taylor should win.

definite in the start he met his suspension with type with the help of declaring he did not take supplementations yet not making a huge fuss. And he continues to be tied for 2d in sacks, in case you watch the guy play there is not any doubt that he's the between the right 3 LB interior the league, and no i'm not a San Diego fan(Baltimore actual so i understand what i'm speaking about). you may't deny him a niche on the probowl roster

By those numbers it would be Taylor. Yeah Merriman missed four games but that is because HE USED ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES. That means it is HIS fault he missed the games and therefore they shouldn't be calculated as a reason to say he would have been better or something.
