The store ones aren't as precise as the doctor's. And it also requires some skill in locating the heartbeat by doppler, especially in early pregnancy. It gets a little easier as the baby grows and the target area gets a little bigger, as well as being able to determine the baby's position for better location of the heartbeat....I'd wait for now.

If you're talking about the Bebe sounds device, that you can get places like WalMart, don't bother. I tried with my last two pregnancies, my last being with twins, and I never heard anything with it. Not a heartbeat at least. You can hear baby bumping and thumping around in there though, and it would make an excellent ease dropping device. If you ever need to know what's being said in another room then it might be worth the investment. Otherwise, I'd let the doctor do his thing.

No, they don't.
But you can rent one that is exactly the same as the one your doctor is using (or pretty similar). In any case, those would detect a heartbeat from around 12 weeks.

In dynamicdoppler you can buy a used one for $175, I believe. But if you don't want to pay that much, you can just rent it for a while and return it when you start feeling your baby move (around 16 or 17 weeks - it could be later for some people)

They do not work as well as the doctors, thats for sure. I got the bebe sounds and I could not pick up my babys heartbeat until around 25 weeks. But, you can pick up other sounds, such as kicking and movements, its quite interesting. I still loved listening to it even though the heart beat could not be detected.

you're unlikely to locate one that is sturdy adequate high quality to %. up fetal tones at 10 weeks. Even the scientific grade ones can somewhat %. up tones at 10 weeks, at 12 weeks they are in a position to. yet affordable, retail shop bought fashions infrequently artwork properly till the tip of the being pregnant, or maybe then, in case you don't be attentive to the thank you to seek for the heart beat, you've gotten issues looking it. i could shop your money and basically enable them to do it at your appointments.

No. I worked at BabiesRUs for 4 years, those came back so many times. You are better off buying a stethoscope and using that.

They really don't work well until around 25 weeks, sometimes not at all. I could hear my babies with ours until the boys took it apart trying to figure out how to call ET with it.

Good luck!

No they don't. Sorry. The cheap one at the store (Babe Sounds or Bebe Sounds, something like that) never picked up my daughters heart beat.
