I say chance because if we CHOSE who we fell in love with..I would've been so much happier right now...you can just pick the person that loves you but you can't can you?

I think it is both, sometimes it's chance that you meet, but it is a decision, a choice, to initiate a relationship. If the person you are attracted to isn't "available" then you make a choice to walk away (if you're smart).

Not sure what you mean by chance - but people are naturally attracted due to chemical reactions; this happens very quickly and without choice. This is when people are "blinded by love" and can't see any flaws. This last for a short amount of time. Sometimes people marry during this phase. Once the chemical attraction subsides; then people have a choice and have time to consider whether or not they have enough in common or a desire to pursue the relationship. This is another phase of love that can deepen and is more long-lasting.

the feeling you get for a person is chance, but you can decide how to react to your feelings. i was in love with someone and decided not to talk to them anymore so it's kind of like i had a choice, but kind of not because i couldn't just turn my feelings off! ahh
