It could be either. Losing your mucus plug means that your cervix is softenin and beinging to thin out. It could mean your labor is hours away. However, some women, dialate over the course of a couple weeks. It's all up to your body and your baby. Relax and rest while you can, you'll soon be pretty busy! Good luck and congrats!

Well I lost my mucus plus about 3 weeks ago...i am still prego! It just depends on every person..we are all different..just be watching signs like if your water breaks, you see blood, or you start having contractions then go to the hospital...from the time you lose your mucus plug it could be that same day or it could be weeks or even months before the baby will get here. Hang in there!

well consult a doctor but i think u should go to the hospital...once the mucus plug is out that means labour can start at anytime. hope this helps..i'm just a biology student by the way

I would just call the Dr. he/she will let you know.. with both my kids I lost my mucus plug from about 2 weeks before I had my kids and I slowly lost it through the 2 weeks too...

It's hard to say. It could be anywhere from a few hours or a few weeks. If you go to the hospital too soon they won't admit you. Usually you have to be contracting regularly and be at least 4 cm dilated to be admitted. Good luck.
