I just bought a new pc and it just wont power up. I've singled out the problem to the RAM but im not really sure. how can i find out?

thanks a lot, Sigmus! you're brilliant! please explain how he's supposed to run Memtest if he can't even turn the computer on!

If it won't power up, how do you know the RAM is the problem? If you just bought it new, it should be under warranty. Just take it back where you bought it and have them fix it.

Normally the motherboard will beep 3 times for bad ram!
Buy or borrow the SAME type of ram and try it!

If you have more than one RAM module, pull one of them out and see if it boots. Otherwise, download memtest86 to test your RAM.

Just ask him if he needs to borrow some money. If he's busted, he'll tell you, but you might have to take a quick course in goat to understand him.

the POST will tell you what's wrong with the system board, RAM, video and BIOS.
