I'd say Christmas since I get two weeks off - I'm a teacher.

Christmas! While my mom was alive (she passed away nearly 7 years ago and was in a nursing home for a couple of years before that and a retirement home for about a year or two before that), she would always make Christmas special for everyone. She would make a huge dinner and invite all of the our aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. When we got older, it was all of her kids, son and daughter in laws, grandkids, etc. She would make sure that everyone she invited, and others, got something for a gift (it wasn't always much when there were so many of us, but at least we got something from her so she could show all of us how much we meant to her). I really miss those Christmas parties she would throw! Now I am grown and my stepdaughter lives several hours away--over a mountain pass that is inpassable this time of year. I go with my fiance to his moms and she does the same that my mom did with the holidays--huge meal, gifts for everyone, etc.

no offense to christmas lovers, but Easter is where it's at.. I mean 40 days of prep, really cleansing yourself and learning and understand why Christ died for us, then the celebration of Christ rising from the dead.. it's pretty awesome (and the candlelight Easter vigil is way pretty)
