Is there a New Years tradition where people have a cup with 12 grapes? (what culture or religion)

My favorite tradition is picking the drunk girls out of the herd and "driving them home". Last year I drove home four. One at time.

Well to answer your question, the tradition with the grapes is that you give each guest 12 grapes and in the last 12 seconds before it is officially the new year you have to eat a grape every second and make a wish on each one.

Never heard of that grape thing.
Try doing a search on the internet - might be Greek of other Mediterranean. But grapes are pretty universal in the last several thousand years...
I'm always a fan of toga parties (Scooby Doo sheets!)... and there are alway things like black and white, or exotic erotic balls...
People in my area pay a fortune to to go both the Black and White Ball, and the Exotic Erotic Ball (wear whatever you want, or nothing at all, doesn't matter).
Then you can also pick something cultural - which kind of limits you to European themes (Asia has different New Years than European's do...)

Mansion, Prive & Opium are all throwing the biggest parties on South Beach and they all happened to be owned by The Opium Group

Mansion is having Wilmer Valderama, DJ A.M., and Travis Barker.
Entrance is $250 for general admission but includes some sort of open bar. Theres really no other party in Miami thats going to have more celebrities than this one. Its always the hottest one of the yea. I say its worth the money.
