I am appauled at so many parents feeding that whole Santa story to there kids for god sakes people CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT CHRIST HENCE THE NAME CHRIST-mas. People say that we are spoiling kids chritmas's by telling them that the jolly old fat guy who breaks into your house isn't real but at least we're telling the truth. I just don't understand how parents can look there kids in the eye and tell a BOLD FACE LIE! People are forgetting what christmas is about. Christams is about Christ birthday thats why I don't understand the whole "X-mas" all that is is taking Christ out of Christmas thats like saying it's your birthday and celebrating your sibling instead of you. If it's your birthday then you should be celebrated.

All the holidays are so messed up. Since when does getting candy co-inside with the death of Jesus? When did leaving eggs hidden have the same meaning of Him dying on the cross?

I can see receiving a few small gifts on the Epiphany meaning something...because that's when the wise men brought Jesus the gifts.

And i don't get how an X can stand for Christ......i still don't get that either...if someone knows...let me know.

This world has become so devious. May be it is the work of satan. Chistmas means the birth of Christ. In the olden days the congregations were in the right track and still in books they are. You know still there are 25 days lent before Christmas. But now a days majority of the people hardly follows any of that. People have become more fun oriented and got away from all spirituality and discipline. They want to make money and merry in this season. So they brought Santa instead of Christ. You look around, and you hardly find a Christ picture anywhere. But as much as you turn away but when other children in the neighborhood are celebrating, you obliging to your children to do the same. In reality Christ has to born inside you, so that at the end of this season you be a new creature, renewing yourself spiritually to do good for the other human beings. This is the real meaning of Christmas. In the olden days when I was a boy (India) Christmas starts after the lent period ie Dec 25th. Upto that you have lent for 25 days and you dont eat meat or fish during the lent period.

I think if a person can understand that it's really about Christ's birthday, it's alright to have a little fun with your kids. When kids are little, they don't understand the meaning of "Christ's birthday" and everything else about the true meaning of Christmas, so it's something to at least keep them into it.

Totally agree with you! I never grew up on that Santa and elves crappy stories. The only pagan crap I had at home was the christmas tree.

I grew up in the Roman Catholic way where I was made to understand from young that Mother Mary had so much difficulty in finding a place to lay her child. So every Christmas for me wasn't so much about receiving presents but giving to those who needed help.

Can you prove that Christ was born on the 25th of Dec. ?? thought so.. most scholars say he was born in the summer or spring..I watch alot of anicent bible mysteries on tv. The Christians took the pagan hoilday of winter solstice and made it there own so people would follow them instead of the pagan traditions.
Besides all the corporation took this hoilday along time ago to sell there products to the masses.

PS.. Christmas was always a Pagan hoilday...the Christians stole it from the pagans first to comform them into Christianity...Look it up on wikipedia...

People got to obsessed with matieral possesions and are in over there head with gifts I agree that people need to take a real expierence of the real meaning of Christmas. Like people need to have the gift of volunteering at homeless shelters. Then people will finally find the true meaning of Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas!!!!
Happy New Year!!!!

Thank you my friend. I am in total agreement and it grieves me that we have expelled God from our society. We have become corrupt, lascivious, greedy, etc. We are entangled in wars and crime. We no longer have the blessing of God on our nation. Our 'Supreme" court has come to believe that it truly is SUPREME and takes it direction from the ACLU.

It is appalling that we cannot honor Christ at least one day out of the year. We have turned it into a pagan holiday and I for one reject it on this level.
