I went and saw a light show at someones house. The lights went along with music and stuff. It was awesome. I was wondering if anyone know's how i could make one.

There are many ways to do this. You don't even need a computer. You can build (or buy) a little electronic device that responds to sound and displays it.
On the other hand, if you want to get your computer to this it is a little more expensive and complicated, but a fun project if you have the time.
You first need to buy a device that can control external switches, they are specialist devices, but quite common. They get used on farms, factories or I used them for scientific research.

Most people use LightORama, Animated Lighting or D-Light systems to do this. You do all the timing on the computer and plug all the lights into the controllers.
