General studies (don;t forget something like Medieval literature)

No degree is totally worthless. It just depends on what you want to study, or go into. General studies will help you get the higher degrees. Liberal Arts covers a broad field of study. Psychology is a little more specific. What do you want to be? What do you want to do? These questions are what you want to ask yourself.
Whatever you decide to do; go for it with everything you have. That's the only way you can succeed in whatever you want to go into.

None of those is "totally" worthless. It is better than having nothing. But, those degrees are regarded as less than other more specific degrees. Although psychology might be an specific degree, there are a lot of people with that degree so in the end you will end up in a job having nothing to do with psychology.

It's truly amazing how many times Dr. Goodhi can be wrong. Your answer is that there are NO worthless college degrees. This is because that, even if a person does not go into the professional field that he majored in, an employer will ALLWAYS take the person with a college degree over the one without, given the fact that all their other qualifications are about equal. A degree also show an ability to commit, and to finish a task. Why do you think the college educated are by and large much more succesful than others? It;s not a coincidence. My experience has been that most people who call a degree worthless do not have one. Do you? didn't think so.

I say they all are, if it doesn't serve the purpose for which intended. A degree doesn't guarantee success or a good job. There is nothing wrong with working at McDonald's or The Gap, but when you see a college grad working at such an establishment I can't help but to wonder... what was the purpose of going to school to get all those loans for? I say don't limit it to those 3 choices. Heck, an Engineering degree is useless unless you're able to apply the skills and reap the benefits of all your hard work and sacrifice. Unfortunately, that "guarantee of success" is based on factors and variables you can't control. HIgher education is still encouraged since it at least tips the advantage and increasing your chances, but still....

General Studies is okay (not worthless), but any degree is better than none these days.

none. I think philosphy or religious studies. though they are not worthless to the person, they don't provide an immediate job category to put oneself into.
but, for many jobs, all you need is a college degree, in anything, to get you in the door.

It would depend on the job you would want for your future.
For example, if you were going to be a doctor, Liberal Arts would be totally worthless.

No degree is totally worthless, It has value to the person who takes it, though not of that much value to the one who does not take it, but it definitely isn't 'totally worhtless'
