Because it has so many calories in it, of course.
I am actually drinking my Turkey Hill Egg Nog with some Gossling's Black Seal Rum right this minute. Here's to you....

Why the combination of the rum! And the sweet cream! And the spices! Not to mention the eggs.
It's a nourishing combination of warm, and mellow from the rum.
And cool and hardy from the cream and eggs.
Goes back to Primordian time, I think.
Or at least as far back as childhood. Sooothhing. Also the adventure of going to get it, whatever you're particular recipe or store, what have you.
We go to a farm in Pennsylvania that uses only certified raw milk. And we know it is better, fresher, right from the cow.
It comes in a 2 part plastic bag. My husband holds one side of the bag, too unsheath it from the bag my Dad holds onto, and I hold the milk pitcher in the center to catch it! It is just like milking a cow, by a stretch of the imagination.
Don't know how we do it, but we do it every year! And Wow, is it good!

I used to like eggnog, but now, I can hardly stand it. Too sweet, I guess. And that's coming from a sweet freak! I guess you could say it's like a woman who's too sweet for her own good. You can only take so much and then you've just gotta find a way to get away from her.
