Because we like to give each other points. We like to think we are smart by giving answers. We like to be smart alecks. Use obscene language. State thoughts that we wouldn't in public. Misbehave. It makes some of us feel good, to think we might be helping other people. We love to try to influence public opinion. Tell each other how cool their avatars are etc... Your point is well taken though, if I REALLY want to know an answer I've got more reliable ways of finding it. Yahoo ! Answers is only about having fun.

I use google. Sometimes people here want original answers, not canned stuff from the Internet.

I use google a lot. It was very useful for me especially when I only had dial-up connection. I get results pretty quickly.

people do enjoy getting more personal and more customised answers to their questions, plus the answers do come from more than one person, it is a great way to view different opinions as well.
