Well, no. For the fundamental fact that our country has always been in debt, since Washington. I do think if we can get a fiscally responsible president in 2008 and re-elect him, we should be able to take a bite out it. Its currently at 9 trillion dollars.
The problem with the debt is that foreign governments like China are buying it, which is never good. Bush drove this country into the ground when he spent trillions on tax cuts to the wealthy, trillions. We could have fixed Social Security, but what are you gonna do when you have a Republican special interest puppet ruling the land.

We're doing now..... the income to the Treasury has increased. Now if we can get some *real* Conservatives in there to cut spending we'll be home free.

Yes but we may have to raise the top income tax bracket back to pre-world war 2 levels. It's only fair, they are the ones that are profit ting the most from the Iraq invasion and occupation.
