I think Futurama is a great show, if it gets a 12 year old asking questions and starts the creative thought process. Good questions to ask start with how would that be possible...
Who knows it could inspire a kid to be an engineer. A physicist?
If you don't like the 12 year old watching Futurama (which by the way is coming back with new episodes in the next 2 years), there are excellent books in science-fiction for him to read from Isaac Asimov to Jules Verne.

no i don't think its that bad . it just has some past kid going to the future wit his cyclops girlfriend, a robot, a mad scientist, and a talking lobster . nothing that bad . sure it has its bad moments then and there but nothing to worry about for a 12 year old . so if you wanted to know if futurama is appropriate for a 12 year old, then the answer is yes .

No. The goverment even says so. Its rated TV-PG.
Not everything on AS is for adults. Last summer they were running Pee Wee's Playhouse. And if I remember correctly when they first started out most of what they were airing had ran on Toonami just a few week before.
