it says "everyone dancing merrily in the new old_fashioned way"
i was driving in the car with my nephew and he asked me this i could not tell he the answers so i said i would find out please help.

I think its sort of a play on words.....people had danced merrily at Christmas long before there was Rock and Roll....now they are "rockin' around the Chirstmas tree, its a Chirtstmas party hop" or something like that, like a referance to a 50's sock hop. So ...."everyones dancing merrily in the "new" old, fashioned way"
is like a new twist on an old idea....

This is my wife that asked this question! It was my nephew Kyle that asked her. I tried saying that it meant the new and old fashioned way. love ya huney Greg
