I have a 87 firebird with a2.8l engine and a 5 speed tranie.What would I need to change,in order to put a 305 in it's place?

You willl need to have engine mounts, bell housing, clutch pressure plate,etc..exhaust, radiator and shroud that is where you have to start at..but it will work

see if you can find a similar one with the 305 that has been rear ended or rolled , this will give you all the mounts, brackets and nick knacks that eat up time and money like crazy on these swaps , the tranny and rear end wont last long with the v8 so the whole driveline should be swapped , might be better off to sell yours ,find one with a tired 305 and drop in a crate motor .
