Let's see 75% of 12,500 is 9,375

90% of that is 8,437.5

To find out how much is left after each discount you multiply the price by 1-the decimal form of the percent discounted. 1-.25= .75

You can do the problem two ways: figure out how much is deducted and then subtract or figure out how much was left (that's easier).

Remember the word "of" means to multiply; percents have to be changed to decimals in order to use them.

So, first, if 25% is deducted, then the amount left would be 75%.
So, what is 75% OF 12,500
(this means you change 75% to a decimal, 0.75, and then multiply times 12,500).

Next question, if 10% of THAT answer is subtracted, then you would have 90% left. So the questions becomes:
What is 90% OF (your answer from the first part).
(this means you change 90% to a decimal, 0.90, and then multiply times your previous answer).

Some of the other people answering for you have done the math. Check to see if you can do it, too.

taking 25% off the original price
12,500-12,500*0.25
=12,500-3125
=9375

taking 10% off the discounted price
9375-937.5*0.10
=9375-937.5
=8437.5

therefore the net price is $8437.5

Try this:
100-25=75/100=.75
100-10=90/100=.90
12,500x.75x.90

first u find out wat 25% of 12,500 and subtract that from 12,500 then u find 10% of that and subtract it from that answer and u get ur answer

25% of 12500= 3125 so 12500-3125=9375 then 10% of that is 937.5
so 9375-937.5=8437.5 and that is ur answer
