i always heard that when a baby smiles while sleeping that it is an angel whispering in its ear. my son starting really smiling at about 3 months. he is now 6 months and all he does is smile, very easily amused. the angel thing sounds much better than gas don't ya think????

Most babies will smile in their sleep, and most people will call it gas. You can expect your babies first true smile around 4 to 6 weeks. Congrats on your new little one.

Gas-induced smiles are right after birth, and it's hard to tell the difference. Every baby is different...so you really never know!
