the fatalities happend when you finish somebody and they get dizzy and at the top it says finish him and that means you have to press certain buttons so it will make a finishing move which is long and its pretty cool

after the end of the second or third round (depending how you did) the announcer would say "FINISH HIM" and you would do a certain combination of button presses and the character would do a finishing move which usually tended to be a bit bloody and/or graphic. It ranged from the Kiss of Death to having your head ripped off (with spine still attached). In later versions of the game the characters had more then one Fatality and also gained Friendships, Brutalities, Animalities, and Babalities.

When you win a fight the judge says: "finish him!!" and you have to know a combination of moves to do the killing blow. The combo only works after you win the fight.

fatalities are just a special attack that kills instantly and the way you use them is to kill enough people to fill up a bar.
