Yes, there was a sequel made to the movie called "My Summer Story," (also known as "It Runs in the Family) however, while the characters were the same only one person from "A Christmas Story" returned for the sequel (actually two, Jean Shepard returned to narrate). The actress who plays Ralphie's school teacher in "A Christmas Story" returned to the role in "My Summer Story."

No, but there is a GREAT book called "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash!", by Jean Shepherd, of course.
It's the book that A Christmas Story was based on and has lots of other adventures of Ralphie and the gang.
