I tprobably falls under a code of ethics you agreed to follow when you started going to that school. ANd even though drinking in Mexico was legal drinking in the States isn't and doesn't promote well for any school.
Your best bet, admit the posting of the picture wasn't the right thing to do, take it down and learn from this experience.

if you were 18 and in mexico. it is legal to drink. you were breaking no law, so they have no right to punish you. however if it was on a school sponsored trip where there is always stipulations about drinking, you can be in violation of school policy for drinking. however, you can put anything on your myspace that youwant to, as long as it does not violate any myspace guidelines:nudity, drug use. if you are 18 you cant be punished according to the first amendment.

there is not a definte answer to this.. there are many variable such as who was involve, age, where, and what was the intension..as i see nothing can be done to u because it does not cause problems in the school as well as it was only a picture that u should remove immediately... now ask your self why was the dean in myspace.. and how did dhe access your space....

That Dean of discipline needs to back the hell off. You are a legal ADULT and have the right to your privacy and if she pushes this get a lawyer. Lawyers (or even the threat of one) scares hell out of schools.

If it happened out of school then you should not get suspended. If it was during a school e xscursion then yes she has a right to take action.

I don't think she can get you in trouble for this because it was something that didn't have anything to do with your college. As long as it was outside of the country as well as off campus and there wasn't a crime involved then they can't do anything, as far as I know though.

I believe she herself cannot do anything with you in school as of detentions or suspensions as it is not a school matter, but informing your parents is her right and that will have its own consequences. Regarding the law, if it was legal you shouldn't have a problem there.

Not very encouraging if other students see it, why don't you apologize, say you will remove it and not put it there again, afterall you have joined school to study and not to get into controversies.
