Every time i log off i get the install shield icon. says updates are ready. is it normal for them to do that 5 times a day? Is something wrong? It never used to do it THAT much, what gives??! anyone?

Windows updates are provided by microsoft all the time, if you do not want them go to your security center and disable auto-updating, or don't shut down that much.

You should allow the updates to install. They are Critical updates. You can go directly to the update page and get any and all updates. www.microsoft.com and click on updates.

Let the computer do the update do not turn it off, if your computer doesn't need the update you won't see that. update only when the computer needs that .
