I sure am glad that Santa does.

More seriously, it depends on the job. Obviously, the hospitals, ambulances, fire departments, and police departments all must be fully staffed. Sickness, fire, and crime don't take a break on Christmas.

I am working on Christmas, all day in fact.

I usually work a 48 hour weekend shift, from 10PM Friday till 10PM Sunday. This means that I am off the rest of the week and everyone else if off the weekends.

This year, I told people that, if they wanted, I would work Christmas day. I get 24 hours overtime pay, holiday bonus and shift differential. They get off Chistmas.

I will miss morning with the family, but it is worth it. The money will come in handy and the good will even more so.

Oh yea, I am an operating engineer at a major office building in New Orleans, and someone has to be on the job 24/7.

The only thing I like about working Christmas is the overtime pay.

I feel the whole world shouldn't have to stop for a birthday personally. It is just another commercialized holiday! So to answer your question I don't mind working it at all.
