Juilliard is a college program that offers a BFA and it's more of a modern-based program, although they offer excellent ballet instruction as well. ABT and NYCB are companies that don't really have their own schools, although SAB is the recognized "feeder" school to the NYCB.

So are you looking for a "pre-professional" ballet school (like SAB) or a college program? Either way, all programs would offer their own scholarships and are given to the most talented dancers on the basis of their auditions.

To find out more about all levels of ballet training, please check out the "Ballet Talk for Dancers" message board:

Also buy the December and January issues of Dance Magazine, as audition season for all the programs is coming up, starting in January. Review all the ads in the magazines for the schedules of audition tours.

I have a friend who studied dance at Brenau Unversity in Gainesville, Ga (about an hour out side of Atlanta). She now actually teaches dance in a high school in Metro-Atlanta.

Note that Brenau is an all girls school.
