only the surface is 2/3 water and it lowers the melting point of rock , so maybe the gravity of the moon on the earth not only causes tides on the water but also on the rock so maybe the friction of gravity raises the temperature of the rock creating magma which flows like water riseing when hot and cooling when cold, like air currents creating weather systems in the magma which is where you get Continental drift.

well first water on the earth always stays the same it never losses water and it never gains. second if it desolves it would just go in the air and it would come back on the earth.

I feel maybe that the borders of earth that nature has found this water to come to join with has enough zinc in it to stave of any dissolving effect. But probably "erode" would be more proper terminolgy in the effect of happenstance that you describe.

Don't forget that tides change also-ebb and flow

there is magma in the center of the earth on that it has a metal covering & then tectonic plates are arranged on that tectonic plate there is our land or the oceans .so we are not submerged!
