Jesus wouldn't be so easily offended so you shouldn't either.

who cares, as long as the reason for the season stays in your heart then no matter what anyone says or does should be able to change that. so go ahead and take down the trees, stop saying merry christmas and abbreviate all you want i still celebrate the same.

"Xmas" and "X-mas" are common abbreviations of the word "Christmas". This abbreviation is widely but not universally accepted; some view it as demeaning to Christ, whilst others find it a helpful abbreviation.

Because some of us are Muslim, Jewish, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. and we'd like to celebrate the increasingly-secular holiday without having to forsake our religion and say that Jesus (PBUH) deserves his birthday to be celebrated.
XMas all the way!

Its an abbrevation,
Some would like to think that they are crossing out Christ out of Christmas.
I like to think of it as the cross that he was crucified on, and as a shortform for his sacrifice it makes me appreciate him more at this time of year.

No, really.. I think people that don't type or write so much probably do this. Do you get anyone ever saying out loud, "Merry X-mas!" to you? I don't. *smiles*

They're taking the 'Christ' out of Christmas....so they don't offend everyone but everyone still knows what time of year they're talking about.
Of course it offends Christians but that's another story...

THEY'RE TRYING TO X-OUT, CROSS OUT, CHRIST FROM THE HOLIDAY. HE'S THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. PLEASE DON'T LET THEM BE SUCCESSFUL.
Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.
Psalm 82:3-4
GOD BLESS
