I would have to say Donny Baseball. The Yankees got shafted in 1994 with a great team due to the strike. Mattingly goes the playoffs in 1995 up 2-0 only to lose 3 in a row to Seattle. Mattingly retire and the Yankees win the WS in 1996. How tough was that to watch?
Ernst A? FYI Jeter and Posada have rings already.

Out of all those, definitely Jeff Bagwell. He was an all around great player, definitely the best hitter in Astros history, and from what I've heard, he's a pretty nice guy. I got a baseball signed by him as an early Christmas present!!!! My second choice would be Ryne Sandberg or Tony Gwynn because they're really the only other ones I respect or have heard of out that list. *cough*BARRYBONDS*cough*. What?

There are obviously many young people (or maybe Astros/Cubs fans) on this forum. Bagwell just retired, so many are (naturally) thinking of him. A fine player, but please? Bagwell over Ted Williams? Absurd. And Sandberg played a long time at an excellent level, but he was never close to being the dominant player in baseball.
Full disclosure, I am a Yankees fan, and I would have loved to have seen the great Mattingly get a ring. So as far as your question "would have liked to see": Mattingly by far.
But, I feel compelled to say in fairness, anyone who really knows the game knows that Ted Williams was a far far superior player to all of the rest in your list (and yes, I am penalizing Bonds for cheating, because he did).
Ted Williams batted .344, with an OBP of .482 and a slugging % of .634, lifetime!!!!
In 1941, he batted .406, with a .553 OBP and a LUDICROUS .735 slugging.
Ted was a one man wrecking crew.
So as far as the "would like to have seen win", it really should be the best player. Unlike basketball where a great player with one accomplice (e.g. Jordan/Pippen surrounded by role players) can get it done, a World Series championship takes a lot more than one great player.
Ted deserved at least one ring, playing 19 seasons and he was a WWII hero to boot, missing three full years in the absolute prime of his career. But I guess The Curse (and the Yankees) were still too strong in those days.

Don Mattingly, Ted Williams, and Jeff Bagwell.
I am a Yankees fan, and I am terribly sad that Mattingly never earned a WS ring with the Yankees. Even though Ted Williams was on the Red Sox, I have no hatred towards the Red Sox and I respect Ted Williams for all of his accomplishments. Also, Jeff Bagwell has donw so much for the Astros, that it is sad that he never earned a ring with them.

Ted Williams. He is the greatest hitter of all time, and he didn't always have the best team (not saying they weren't good, just someone was always better). I would alos like to see Tony Gwynn get one. He could have gone to any team and made a lot more money, yet he stuck with SD, because he liked the team and the fans. Both were great guys.

I would have liked to see all of them win a ring except Barry Bonds. As a Red Sox fan, I think Yaz and Teddy Ballgame both deserved it, but fell just short of the goal. Gwynn, Bagwell, Sandberg, and Mattingly all played the game like it meant something to them, and they should have enjoyed the feeling of being World Champs. Bonds is a cheater and should not get to enjoy any of baseball's accolades.

Don Mattingly
its a shame that injury retired him a year too early and a possible place in the Hall someday as well. Maybe though as a bench coach he will finally get his ring.
Although, and this coming a Yankee fan mind you, Ted Williams also holds a special place for me.

Ryne Sandberg. The dude deserves it after playing on all those bad Cubbie teams for all those seasons!

Well, my favorite player out of the list is Tony Gwynn. Definately a class act and a man who played "for the love of the game." I believe if I were to meet him he would actually be as nice a person as he seems to be.
