Viruses are created so quick the anti-virus company's can not keep up.

You can run a free online scan from Trendmicro. When I have tested it it takes some time to run it but it may be time well spent if it can fix any problems.

Download and run http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Virus makers are always writing new viruses. It takes time for security software makers to identify a new threat and create an fix for it. The good software makers release updated virus signature fixes within 2-4 hours of the virus' discovery. Others are not so prompt. No antivirus program is 100% effective. If you want to scan your computer with another antivirus program, you can try one of several online virus scanners, such as Trend Micro's Housecall (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/). It detects and removes viruses and spyware. Unlike other online scanners, Housecall will scan and remove for free. Most online scanners only offer free scanning but charge you for removing any malicious files.

would depend on a few things
how new this virus or other problem is, new ones come out daily it seems so not everything can get caught straight away
how good your anti-virus is, and how good at removing it is
there may be a removal tool for it if its a real bad one
